I didn't sleep the whole night.
Neither did I cry nor did I feel anything. Just pain in my shoulder. When I saw a little light in the sky, I picked up my bag, wore a fresh pair of clothes, and moved out without informing my parents or meeting them.
I have nowhere to go, no destination, no one to be with, no one to rely on. I entered the train to Mumbai after buying a ticket online.
After finding my seat, I sat there. I don't know why I'm even going there. I don't have much money, no home, no job, just a certified Business Management degree.
It's now 7 am. I haven't had anything since yesterday and have taken heavy medicine, so I decide to have breakfast. But as I was about to eat a sandwich that I bought a few minutes ago, I miss them, my parents.
I know they hate me, and maybe yesterday they felt sorry and guilt because they're not killers or murderers, but they want me off their shoulders.
But I kept dragging myself towards them even after their clear statement that they didn't want to have any relation with me anymore.
Reason? Unknown.
Or probably because of my father's family.
I took a deep sigh and started having the sandwich with a heavy heart. Neither am I weak nor heartless; I'm just hurt.
Inner wounds need time to heal more than the outer ones. I'm not heartless to leave my parents behind, but I'm just too hurt to forgive them. Maybe some other day I'll be able to forgive the pain and wounds they gave to my heart and body, but not right now.
Once I finished the sandwich, I took the painkiller. I placed my fingers above the bandaged chest and hissed in pain.
Time passes painfully slow, and the warm environment of the AC compartment makes it feel cozy enough to fall asleep.
Due to the effect of the medicine, I don't know when I fell asleep. My eyes shot open due to sudden pain when someone shook my left shoulder gently, but due to the injury, it hurts so much.
"Uhh..." I wince in pain.
"Oh sorry dear, I didn't meant to hurt you, but this is my seat can you please shift your luggage?" A old woman said. She looks around 70+, her looks and warm smile make her appear young, sweet and rich.
"Sorry unty." I muttered slowly and take my bag from her seat and put it under my seat.
"It's alright dear. No need to be sorry. Infact I'm sorry to wake you up. You look tired." She said while sitting on her seat, her voice held sorry.
"It's alright aunty. No worries." I said with small smile. And that's when I saw that we reached Delhi and it's about 11 am currently.
I sleep for four hours straight. Looking at my phone I decide to do some job hunt. Currently I'm able to do anything from cleaning to being a waitress or if get a chance then work as an intern in any company. But for that I needed to job hunt online.
I was so busy in my phone that I forget about the lady beside me. But then she gets a call.
"Hello my child." She said to someone. That's when I hear a faint sound of a person more like a male.
"Grandma did you get your seat? I told you to take flight but you're so hell bent to take that stupid train which now take hours for you to reach Mumbai." Person on the call said. He sound irritated?
Yes!
"Ohho, Ansh my child I'm all fine and even I'm enjoying this trip and I got a seat beside a humble young lady. Don't worry I'm fine and till tomorrow morning I'm in Mumbai. So for now keep your frustration and anger aside and start preperations as your beautiful grandma is coming back." That old lady said. She looks cool and preety with her cozy loving smile and soothing words. And that praise for herself it can't go unnoticed.
She carried a aura around her which automatically make me feel light suddenly.
And once she cut the call her whole concentration on me. I can see her with my peripheral vision, she looking at my face and phone curiously.
"You're hunting for job in Mumbai?" Her sudden question surprised me.
"Uhh..yes" I maybe sound rude, but can't help .
"Can you tell me about your qualifications? Maybe I can help." She said with genuine smile. Which confused me.
"Huh?" I was so confused. How can she help and if she can be, then why she wanted to help a complete stranger?
"Ok I get it, you have many questions in this preety brain of yours. Why don't we start it with a small introduction. We've a long way to go and till tomorrow morning we're together in this journey." She said with her cute smile.
Her wrinkled face makes her appear old but cute and kind at the same time.
She said, "I'm Shalini Jairaj Rajvansh, an old but pretty woman from Mumbai.", with a small chuckle which made me smile on its own.
She's funny and simply cool at her age, where old women just want to judge and characterize the young and alone females on how they talk, walk, and dress.
"I'm Mishthi Bansal, from Agra," I said. I don't know how to introduce myself like her.
"Mishthi! Such a sweet name just like its meaning," she said and caressed my head lovingly.
Her mere affection brings tears to my eyes. I'm missing my mom.
"Oh dear, did I hurt you by any chance? I'm so sorry I didn't mean for you to cry," she panicked, looking at my misty eyes.
"Oh no, aunty, it's not because of you. It's just that I'm missing my mom," I said truthfully, blinking my eyes to get rid of those unwanted tears.
"Is this your first time traveling without your parents?" she questioned further, her eyes holding concern for me.
"Umm, yeah, kind of. No, actually, yes, and this is going to be for a long time without them," I said, looking down.
"No need to worry, I'm here to make your pretty face smile. Also, I see you're hunting for a job now.
Will you tell me about your qualifications?" the lady insisted.
Can I trust her?
